Divisional Playoffs – Houston Texans v Baltimore Ravens

without comments

On Sunday I photographed the AFC Divisional Playoff game between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens for Getty Images. We had an amazing team of photographers to work the game.

Since there were three of us, I headed upstairs with my 600 for the first quarter and then covered the opposite end zone from the action to protect against a possible pick-6 due to how competitive this playoff game was building up to be. Before the game I spent some time photographing the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell while he held a Q&A with fans and then spoke to the members of the media.

2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic – New York Rangers v Philadelphia Flyers

without comments

On Monday I had the enormous privilege to cover the 2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic in Philadelphia for Getty Images. This was by far one of the most amazing sporting events I have ever covered or attended. What made this game even more fun for me was that I was the designated “wonderer.” This meant I had the freedom to go on a tour of Citizens Bank Park to capture the aura of the game from as many different unique perspectives as possible. Looking forward to hopefully having the opportunity to cover this game in the future.

Black Friday: A NBA Deal

without comments

At a little past 3:20 a small group of half-awake members of the press were lead to a small conference room in a law firm on 5th Avenue near Central Park to hear what we all thought was the announcement that we had been waiting for the past 149 days: the NBA lockout was over. At a little past 3:40 am on Saturday November 26, 2011 NBA Commissioner David Stern, NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver, San Antonio Spurs owner Peter Holt, Former Executive Director of the NBA Players Association Billy Hunter, Derek Fisher, and Maurice Evans broke the good news to us. About half way through the press conference, I noticed Billy Hunter smile and wink at me after he recognized that I was once again the one behind the lone still camera there (besides the official NBA photographer). I’ve clearly spent way too much time around these men! Here are a few photographs from the announcement. I will be working on posting a “behind the scenes” look at what it was like to cover the labor talks through a collection of photographs I took with both my iPhone and regular camera over the past month or so. Should be up hopefully by the end of this week. Enjoy!

2011 Philadelphia Marathon

without comments

The last three weeks have felt like a whirlwind between the NBA labor talks, lots of football, and Coach K’s 903rd win at Madison Square Garden. But this past weekend I set aside a few hours in my crazy schedule to photograph the Philadelphia Marathon where my friends Jake Krong and Andrea North were trying to qualify for the 2012 USA Olympic Marathon Trials. They both had amazing races with Jake finishing in 13th overall and Andrea in 12th for the women. Great job guys!
